MS(R) | Department of Applied Mechanics

Our MS (Research) program is comprised of 15 credits of the course work and 36 credits of the research work. The 15 credits of coursework should not include any component of a minor project. In the first semester, the student has to register for a minimum of 09 credits and a maximum of 15 credits, while the part-time students can only register for course work with minimum and maximum limits of 03 credits and 12 credits, respectively. The coursework must be completed by the end of the third semester; otherwise, the registration of the student will stand canceled. The minimum acceptable performance level in any registered semester is an SGPA of 7.0 or more (relaxed to 6.75 for SC/ST and PH students registered in the M.S. (R) program).

Objective of the Programme

The objective of our M.S.(R) program is to make a highly skilled research-oriented student in the field of Applied Mechanics. Throughout the course work, students will acquire a variety of analytical and numerical techniques, software, and experiments to prepare them for their future research endeavors. Under proper supervision, they will receive training in solving fundamental mechanics problems, writing academic research papers, and research reports, etc.
